Specializing in family law, Deborah L. Ditchfield has for over 26 years successfully assisted her clients to get the best outcome possible for themselves and for their children. Separation and divorce are difficult emotional times, but using her education, training and experience, Deborah will guide you through those challenging times.
Litigation of family law issues including custody, access, spousal and child support and equalization of family property can be time consuming and expensive. Deborah will first attempt to achieve a non-litigated resolution using her wide ranging skills as a negotiator, mediator and collaborative practitioner. If it is not possible to achieve a fair outcome using out of court settlement techniques, Deborah will draw upon her exceptional court room experience and skill to aggressively advocate on your behalf before a judge.
Deborah has represented clients at all levels of Appellate and Trial Courts and she serves as a Small Claims Court Judge. Deborah is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the ADR Institutes of both Canada and Ontario. As well, Deborah is a member of the Brant Haldimand-Norfolk and Hamilton Collaborative Practice Groups.
Deborah is a trained Family Law Arbitrator providing mediation, med/arb and arbitration services.
