Tim Sheldon
Tim Sheldon received a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1970 and obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1973. Tim joined Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP as an associate in 1975 and became a partner in 1981.
Tim has been active in the community for over 35 years, including involvement as a president of the Brantford YMCA-YWCA, the Dufferin Tennis Club and the NBC Hockey League. He has also served as a director and committee chair for the Rotary Club of Brantford and YMCA Canada, as well as a volunteer for Community Living Brant and as a voluntary consultant to a variety of other not-for-profit organizations. He currently holds the position of President of the Sanderson Centre Foundation, director of The Brant Foundation for Persons with Developmental Needs (previously, Secretary for 30 years), and Secretary of the Bell City Youth Development Foundation.
For 35 years, Tim provided clear and concise advice to Firm clients in the areas of corporate commercial law, real estate, and estate planning and administration. He has spent many years assisting both corporate and individual clients in the aggregate extraction industry, as well as advising upon the licensing of products and technology, both nationally and internationally.
In addition to his role as Chief Privacy Officer for the Firm, Tim provided advice to all Firm clients on issues of privacy law.
Tim retired from the Firm and the practice of law, effective February 28, 2010, but continues to assist the Firm as an independent consultant in circumstances where Tim has historical knowledge or specific expertise with respect to a particular client, especially for matters related to the aggregate extraction industry.
