Peter B. Forbes

Peter Forbes obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1969 after receiving his undergraduate degree in English literature from Huron College at the University of Western Ontario in 1965.

After his call to the Bar in 1971, Peter practiced with a local law firm for a year and subsequently formed a successful partnership that amalgamated to form Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP in 1984.

Believing that it is necessary to dedicate a portion of one's efforts to the community, Peter has devoted many years of service to various community sectors. He was an elected councillor for eight years with the Corporation of the Township of Brantford. During the following nine years he was elected as a Commissioner to the Hydro Electric Power Commission of the Township of Brantford. For two years, he sat as a member of the Committee of Adjustment. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Brantford for more than twenty years, served with the Brantford Red Cross Society and has chaired his church's board of management.

Peter has assisted his clients with their varied needs in the legal fields of residential and commercial real estate, wills and estate planning, estate administration, criminal litigation and the defense of provincial offenses. Peter also occasionally acts as a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney for the Province of Ontario prosecuting in Brant and Norfolk Counties when called upon.

Married, he enjoys cruising Lake Erie with his wife in their boat. He and his son share their passion for hunting each fall up north. Peter has wide and varied interests which have enabled him to meet and relate to people of all walks of life.
