Paul Amey
Paul Amey has 30 years experience in a broad range of civil litigation, including acting for plaintiffs in personal injury, long term disability, professional negligence and medical malpractice cases. In addition, he is involved in employment issues and general commercial litigation. He also has substantial experience in matrimonial litigation at both trial and appeal levels. In addition to work before the Courts, he has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Municipal Board, the Assessment Review Board and professional disciplinary bodies.
His success at all levels of the Court including Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court and Supreme Court of Canada is a valued resource to our firm clients with their varied litigation needs.
After clerking for the Chief Judge of the County and District Courts of Ontario (1973-74), Paul joined Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP and became a partner in 1975. Paul has successfully represented clients in the Superior Court of Justice Trial Division, Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal, Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. Administrative tribunals such as Ontario Municipal Board, Assessment Review Board, Canada Pension Plan appeals Tribunals. Paul has knowledge and experience that work in our clients' favour.
Paul received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen's University in 1968 and attained his law degree in 1971 at the University of Toronto.
