Deborah Ditchfield

Specializing in Family Law, Deborah Ditchfield has, for over 20 years, successfully assisted her clients to get the best outcome possible for themselves and for their children. Separation and divorce are difficult, emotional times but using her education, training and experience Deborah will guide you through those challenging times.

Litigation of family law issues, including custody, access, spousal and child support and equalization of family property, can be time consuming and expensive. Deborah will first attempt to achieve a non-litigated resolution using her wide ranging skills as a negotiator, mediator and collaborative practitioner. If it is not possible to achieve a fair outcome using out of court settlement techniques, Deborah will draw upon her exceptional courtroom experience and skill to aggressively advocate on your behalf before a Judge.

Deborah has represented clients at all levels of Appellate and Trial Courts and she serves as a Small Claims Court Judge. Deborah is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. As well, she is a member of the Brant Haldimand-Norfolk and the Hamilton Collaborative Practice Groups.

Deborah graduated with her Law Degree in 1983 from the University of Western Ontario and in 1999 she received her LL.M. (ADR) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. Deborah is a trained Family Law Arbitrator providing mediation, med/arb and arbitration services.
